TENSEGRITÀ

Tensegrità.

A symmetric shelf with no apparent joinery, this project plays with Tensengrity to create aninnovative design. With a modern aesthetic, it can be placed in homes or public locations;due to its functional but almost sculptural structure.

Conformed by five levels, the shelf reaches a 2-meter height. The whole structure is madefrom wood, while the tension is held by a thin rope.

It could also be done with plastic instead of wood, or even aluminum plaques, which wouldbe held by thin chains.

JOINERY

Using simple knots to create tension between the pieces. The levels are connected by theircorners, having a knot on top and another one under, to keep them in place. While themiddle pieces are connected by their center, by the same technique.
